Plated Statues at Chelsea
Multi award-winning garden designer, John Everiss, contracted Nipro to electroless nickel plate metallic sculptures he created to represent soldiers landing on the beaches of Normandy for the D-Day 75 Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May 2019.
Each sculpture is constructed from individually welded washers giving them an intricate and translucent quality. The statues were then relocated to a permanent display at a fitting location on the Normandy coast.
ENfinity Steady State
Nipro operates a Enthone ENfinity Steady State system providing an automated, high phosphorus, nickel plating production process. This computerised system is the first to be installed and operated within the UK.
To ensure optimal plating chemistry, an automated chemical feed system, Steady State, is used to constantly monitor the plating bath condition and make incremental additions to the chemistry when required. By using this system, each part is plated with compressive nickel deposit, producing a consistent plating rate, and with shorter lead times, by reducing down time and costs due to chemistry issues.
